The first child embassy “Megjashi” calls for most sever punishment for the father rapist from Veles26.08.2010

The First Children’s Embassy “Megjashi” contacted the Centre for social work and Secretariat for Internal affairs, from Veles regarding the last case of incest, of the father against his three daughters in Veles.
In the letter send to all media in the Republic of Macedonia, is stated that this family has not been registered in the center for social work by now. This letter was sent by the director of the Center for social work.
The suspect has been detained by the police in Veles, the interview has been conducted in cooperation with the CSW, with the wife of the suspect and the girls in the premises of the CSW, was stated by the SIA Veles.
Gynecologist statement shows that at the girls were found signs that shows defloration which exists from before. The reported person is kept in the police, he will be brought before investigate judge and will be asked imposing measure detention. In the same time, criminal report will be submitted for incest and family violence.
From the Embassy stated that the children should not be returned to the family because in this kind of cases under pressure of the closest family, as well as because of not enough understanding for the situation in which they are now, very often the children change their statements. That is way we ask the children to be accommodated in another faster family.
The First Children’s Embassy “Megjashi” calls for the most sever punishment for the father rapist, and in the same time calls the competent institutions not to exclude the possibility for collaborator of the mother in this criminal act.
- If the mother was familiar with this and approved the sexual abuse of the three girls we request deprivation of the parents right of the booth parents and their punishment if she didn’t report the case.
It is necessary the children to be put in specialized shelter for children victims of sexual abuse, which will be working 24 hours. The children should get basic conditions for improving, rehabilitation, socialization, and reintegration in the society. The accommodation in this shelter should be temporary, which means forms of specialized families should be develop for this children, its stated from Megjashi.
From the First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi appeal to all journalist to dedicate special attention of protection of personal data of the children which is important for respect of the integrity and identity of the child victim.
If the violence is reported at time it may help a lot the perpetrator to be put in detention or to prevent the violence upon the children from their parents, very big role play the citizens and closes family.
From “Megjashi” reminds that the information that under certain person is conduct family violence in the Center for social work are received from citizens, official and private persons, which are obliged without delay to report to the Center for this kind of information.
The Centres for social work should be present at the field and have insight in all dysfunctional families, families with risks, families with difficult social structure as prevention of violence and abuse of children. The social workers should deprived the parents right at time at the parents which are rapist or parents which abuse their children. The state institutions undertake the responsibility for security and health of the children always when they don’t receive that from their parents..
The Children Embassy “Megjashi” reminds that due attention should be paid at the children victims of sexual abuse and giving statements several times by them. It should not be allowed the child to give statements to the police, in the Centres for social work , and after that in the courts. The child should give only one statement because every time he/she recall of the act of violence is additional trauma for him/she. The second or third time meeting between the child and the rapist, presents repeating of the violence, but this time except the sexual violence the child is suffering psychical violence from the institution it self, form the certain persons involved in the procedure.

Until now the First Children’s Embassy “Megjashi” has many time react, request responsibility for the cases of sexual abuse of children and paedophilia as well as ask for increasing the punishments for the child’s rapists. However, beside of everything, more recent discovering and detention of the paedophiles by the police and the made changes in the Criminal Code which provides more sever punishments, it is obviously that the repressive measures are not resulting with reducing of cases of sexual abuse of children.
The last awful case of continuing violence of the father from Veles upon his three daughters shows absence of function protection upon the children..
