Children desperately are asking for helpThere is an information about increasing of 25% in the number of registered phone calls of children who call SOS helpline and complained that their are sexually and psychologically abused by their parents. From total sum of calls 360 during the last year, 140 were from sexually abused children by their parents.

The survey of the calls, witch was made by the Firs Children’s Embassy in the World – Megasi in occasion 17 May-world day of SOS helplines of the world, shows that most of the calls in the SOS center are from the children who complains that they are victims of their parents. According Megasi, the number of calls in 2008, from children who call to report sexual abuse by they parents increase for 25% than in 2007. In the first five months of 2009 the SOS center made intervention in tree cases of child molestation.

The expert’s opinion about this increasing in molestation and raping is because of the dynamic way of living, stress, violence on the TV and growth of the porno industry.

-         In five months the Police have made eight Criminal request for parents who sexually molested their children, and in our center we had tree calls from under aged kids who were raped – says Mr. Dragi Zmijanac from Embassy Megashi. The last year the SOS center resaved 123 calls for domestic violence, witch is for 10% more than the previous year.

-         The existence of the SOS phone lines is very important, because they are mechanism for connection with the children; they provide to get know better the problems of every kid. The main mission of those lines is to answer to the children need for care and protection. Its good to know that kids can get help and support only with one phone call – says Zmijanac.

Criminology and Penology Professor Ljupco Arnaudovski give support to the children to report the aggressors and to call at the SOS lines, and also says that molestation and sexual abuse of children is not something new but that kind of crimes were happening also in the past only the people were scare and ashamed to talk about that. Today it looks so “popular” only because people are more open to talk about it. People are watching violence scene and act according to them and from the other side there is a mass growth of the porno industry. All of that had a big influence – says Arnaudovski.

Problems in schools are decreasing

Statistical data shows that in last year in SOS-centers there are 9% more calls for help in domestic violence and 4% more for legal help. In the last year there is a bid decreasing in the reports of school problems or calls for financial help.
