CHILDREN AND POVERTY IN MACEDONIAThe Children’s Embassy-Megjashi was invited to participate at the Seminar “Decentralization in the Social Policy: Challenges for Social Inclusion Policies at the local level” that was held on the 25th of September at the Southeast Europe University.

This seminar was organized by the European Commission, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities DG. Presenters on the Seminar were: Ervan Fuere, EU Commission representatives, representatives from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Health, NGO’s and Mayors.

Among the other, on the seminar was discussed about the place children have in politics for social inclusion but also about poverty and the effect it has over children. As participants in this parts were invited The Children’s Embassy-Megjashi and UNICEF. The presentation of the Children’s Embassy was on the theme “Children and poverty” and presenter was M Sc. Dragi Zminajac. In the presentation it was emphasized that phenomenon’s connected with child poverty, such as child labor abuse and children on streets, can be solved if these children are included in the educational system. That is why we should all pledge for it and provide easier approach for these children that are out of school.
