Sharp reaction and conviction regarding child abuse for political issues from the Minister of defense of Republic of Macedonia and The Children’s Embassy for All Children in the World from Prilep.

We sharply condemn the abuse of children for political issues in the yesterday’s celebration of the day of ARM (Army of Republic of Macedonia) where the children were involved in agitation and political campaign regarding Macedonia’s entry in NATO. We are stunned by the fact that the patron of this event is the minister of defense Lazar Elenovski.

The First Children’s Embassy in the World-Megjasi also knows about the political involvement of Damjanco Stojanovski the general secretary of The Children Embassy for All Children in the World from Prilep. He is a member of the Central committee of the political party of Mr. Tito Petkovski the president of the New Social Democratic political party.

Stepping out with the motto: ”Macedonia in NATO, we the children their gold” tells enough about the patron-the Minister of defense of Republic of Macedonia and for the organizer of this event The Children’s Embassy for All Children in the World. We think that the Ombudsman should react about the abuse of children for political goals because this is done by a Ministry and an NGO, which appear as supporters and organizers of the abuse of children for political goals. This also is a shame for the Ministry, which spends government money from the citizens and supports civil organization, which abuses children for political goals.

The First Children’s Embassy in the World- Megjasi several years in row fences itself publicly from this organization that abuses the name Children’s embassy. This organization serves to the interests of certain political party structures and it does not care about the best interests of the children estimated with the Convention of the Rights of a Child. During the conflict in year 2001 there were children which parents got killed from the both sides involved-the ARM and LAK (Liberation Army of Kosovo). The children which parents were killed grieve equally about their parents and we should be careful that the grieve and compassion for their parents is not marked by one national or religious base, which was the case with The Children’s Embassy for All Children in the World from Prilep. Children are only children.

The Children’s Embassy Megjasi thinks that the civil organizations should help all the children whose parents died during the conflict in the year 2001,and not to abuse the same children by involving them in the central celebrations of ARM, LAK or involves them in political campaigns of political parties for entry in NATO.

At the same time, this defile is very similar to the president elections from few years ago where the children held paroles, which said: We would give our lives for Macedonia.

The children are most powerful if we pay them attention, if we give them love, education, if we don’t abuse their labor, if we don’t use them for economical or political goals. It shows a lack of power for the politicians when they abuse the children for political goals and when they think that children are most powerful in supporting our country in the entrance in NATO, to support Macedonia in front of the international factor.

It is an abuse in political goals when children are collecting signatures and agitating for entrance in NATO for 5 hours on 40 degrees in the eyes of the Macedonia public and the Minister of Defense isn’t it? This is a pure manipulation of the children in propaganda and for values strange for the children and it is equal or even worst than the abuse made for the political meetings and campaigns by the political parties. Above all, the political abuse is made by the organizer who is supposed to protect the rights of the children, in front of the eyes and in the name of the patron-Minister of Defense of Republic of Macedonia and the Macedonian public. The Minister of Defense should be prepared to protect the rights of the children and not to confirm theirs abuse as a patron who at the same time knows that NATO is a military formation. The Children’s Embassy for All Children in the World from Prilep should be erased from the Registry of Associations of Citizens of Republic of Macedonia because it breaks the rights of the children guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia and the Convention of the Rights of a Child ratified by the parliament of the Republic of Macedonia in 1993.
